My wife and I just returned from 3 fabulous weeks in Tuscany. We rented Villa Girasole in order to accommodate family and friends that would be joining us. 2 couples joined us for 9 days and 3 individuals joined us for 6 days, we had the villa to ourselves the remainder of the 3 weeks. The owner and his wife were a delight. The place is in perfect shape. All 4 bedrooms have ensuite baths. The 5th bathroom is downstairs and accessible for guests. The pool is cleaned regularly, the 3 outside sitting areas are covered and maintained 3 times each week. The villa is cleaned top to bottom weekly. We had cooking lessons twice at the villa provided by a local group from Peccioli. Agratourismo Serravalle is about 500 meters further down the lane, owned by a fellow named Paolo, we ate there frequently, the food was wonderful and the place is in walking distance from the villa. The villa is about a half mile down an unpaved road. Vineyards and olive groves abound. The 3rd floor is a cupola which provides a 360 degree view of the surroundings. The furnishings were fresh and very complete. Food shopping was within a few miles. The local wine was inexpensive and wonderful. I would recommend the villa and the owner to anyone wishing to experience Tuscany and small village life. The villa can easily accommodate 8. You are about equidistant from Florence, Pisa and Sienna, less than 2 hours by car. You will need a car to get about, roads are good and main road is very easy travel. WiFi Internet is available. We will likely return to this location in the future. If you need more room the owner has another villa nearby and several apartments. The local people were warm and friendly, many small villages are nearby.
